4K Computers

Does anyone currently use (or have used) a 4K Gaming PC? Not sure if its worth investing in one considering the graphics card itself runs around $1100 (Titan Z) and a monitor from BenQ I want costs another $1099..

The fact that you think buying a Titan Z, and a $1k monitor is what you need just to play 4K, is why you aren't going to need to play 4K.

I can go out and buy a 4690k, a single GTX 970, a $400 4K monitor, and play most modern games on medium settings, and get 30-40 FPS.

A Titan Z isn't for gaming anyways. And I highly doubt that BenQ monitor is even good.

a gtx 980 is better than titan z and if u want a titan z sli gtx 980s rounds around the same price n give better performance

I looked into BenQ as my first choice since I pretty much only play CS:GO and BenQ is the most popular provider of monitors preferred by pro players. I wouldn't do it. I much prefer 1440P as a resolution when gaming at around 27".

4k PC at this moment is not worth it, not a lot of games have 4k quality, so it will be useless if you play those low ends games.

I think a 4k PC is pretty okay, but for most games you need only 1k

Oh damn believe in that R9 295X2 CROSSFIRE OMFG.

Anyone recommending a R9 295x2 should look into it again..
It is the mother of heat and will turn your PC build into a volcano without good cooling or a standard water cooling kit..
Imo, i would invest in a laptop for school as you said, or if you dont need that, go with a 1440p monitor and a gtx 980(sli if you want it)
but thats just my opinion tbh.
