780 would be the best option in my mind.
Best performance for price and definitely future proof.
Here is my situation.
I recently bought some new parts.
My current system is:
Intel i5-3570 @ 4x3,4 GHz
8 GB RAM
GTX 660
Win7 64 Bit
So,i wanted to upgrade my GPU and thought about a GTX 770 or a 780.
Would that be a bad decision or not?Or maybe a GTX 680/690?
780 would be the best option in my mind.
Best performance for price and definitely future proof.
I'd double the 690, depending on budget.
If you're not financially restricted then get a 780, it will last you quite a few years.

Depends on money you have.
Radeon is also 9% slower but 32% cheaper
440$ - Radeon 7970
650$ - 780
The radeon isn't as good but its only losing really in Texal and pixel rates, so if you have multiple or Eyefinity than don't grab the radeon.
