GPU Fan Broke - How to prevent overheating?

Hey guys, so first off I'm back from the dead Second off, my easter sunday comes with another death - the death of my GPU fan.

Backstory - I was playing CIV 5, my screen kept going black but the game was still playing as music was coming through my speakers. I keep resetting my PC, keeps happening. I open up my case, suck all the dust out, still nothing. Eventually I take a look at my GPU fan and see its not spinning. I have cleaned/oiled it - still nothing - its dead.

Anyway, right now I have a tiny desk fan against my open computer to prevent it from overheating. My question is, does anyone have any suggestions to prevent my GPU from overheating? Ordering a new fan for my gpu will take 2+ months and I will already be at college by then

    I was thinking about

    A) Putting this directly under my GPU - it will act as a vacuum sucking the air out of the gpu aka doing the broken fans job

or B) Cutting a square in the side of my case and attaching one of these bad boys to suck the air out of the GPU area

    I appreciate any/all ideas

There might still be dust inside the fan. Sort of strings of dust or even hair that might've wrapped itself around the base of the fan, making it unable to spin.

I would advice not using anything resource intensive until you get a new one of fix the fan.
Rather, I wouldn't advice using it at all.

What kind of GPU is it?

If you have a modern-ish GPU, you can buy the coolers on ebay and shit.

Best course of action would be to not use it at all. Grab a fan and sellotape it to where the old fan/s used to be and ramp the speed up to max is you absolutely must use the GPU. Other than that I suggest staying the hell away from using it, un-plug it and keep it somewhere safe until you can figure out what's wrong or until you get a new GPU.

I couldn't get inside the bearings of the fan to see if there was anything trapped in it, I used a whole can of dust cleaner as well as some gun lubricant but it still wouldn't spin. I think something critical inside broke

    I ended up doing this:

Total cost was 16 dollars - less than the cost of a replacement fan, plus my PC now has 1337 LED lights and runs 10 degrees C cooler than before

Keep the room you have it in ice cold, I always keep my air conditioner on and my CPU fan/fans have never overheated.

I would still keep an eye on the temperature of the gpu. If you start bsoding then just stop what you are doing.

Happened to me once, so what I did is removing 1 of the 2 case side fans and place them on top of the broken GPU Fan, You have to lean your pc on its right side so the fan doesn't slide... but of course it won't prevent it from overheating, but it will sure take more time to overheat,

And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows. And whatever you spend in the cause of Allah will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged.
