Unlimited Lag Switch time (post patch) HOWTO
Yet another thread about the lag switches... it looks like a successful argument recently.

So people are asking what's this "new" method to lag switch (without the 2 seconds restriction) post patch, the answer is: there's NO new method, it's the same method as before: using a network throttling utility (as also know as "net limiter").

I'm not going to provide any link to a specific app, there's plenty out there (use Google), you may use any of them and filter the traffic specifically for the app, limiting the UDP traffic to a very low number: it will be enough to let the "keep alive" packets coming in (so the "NETWORK LAG DETECTED" message won't kicks) but not enough to transmit all your client info to the server (in particular your character position).

I think we already discussed about how safe would be to use an external app, especially with BE crazy policies, now think of having a network shaping utility running and its driver loaded while you're in game (I already imagine Bastian flagging all the net limiter out there) and you should understand how "safe" this method could be.

It's up to you to use it or not... good luck!
Can you please explain how it works ?

There's certain network shapers that supports automation (via API), so you can control them from outside and you're not forced to alt-tab to activate/deactivate the switch. You may also use a script engine to perform certain actions inside the app and obtain the same results.

I'm not giving any link or name, nor because I'm a sadist, but because if I do they could be potentially flagged you'll be banned.

To extend the concept you can build your own app to do the same, without using any known released utility (I tested with a self compiled Shaper and it works, I'm not releasing the exe for the same reason as above).

In theory you can do the same by using an hardware firewall or a custom router OS (ie: OpenWRT) to do all this via hardware and bypass the risk of using an external app... but I won't invest much time into this, because fixing everything is very easy (and I'm sure they will do it soon): instead of using a timeout, they could add a counter to measure the packets flow to detect the lag when the traffic goes below a certain treshold, and it will work even better than the current system... so enjoy it until it'll last.
hi there
did u test it or its just theory?

I tested it by opening doors, it's like before: they opens on release and you are teleported back in place.
I didn't tested it while killing another player, and I didn't checked for how long the other player will "see" you in hide/place (like when you fully interrupt the traffic), I guess the traffic is slowed enough to update your position to the server after a certain amount of time (several seconds).
Is anyone can do a tutorial ? Because i downloaded netlimiter but i dunno how to use it
Netlimiter will get blacklisted soon enough, if it isn't already.
netlimiter is detected if i'm not mistaken

It looks like you still didn't recovered from your reading and understanding problems.
This is about a method to lag switch without the "2 seconds" limit that is working post-patch, it has never mentioned in my previous posts, hence the new thread.
Here's your daily cookie so you'll be calm down for another 24 hours... maybe: 8-8
This method doesn't work
