Why is Mincraft so overrated?

Hello!

You're probably thinking, "Whoa! Minecraft is the best game ever!" but here's my question! WHY?!

I dislike Minecraft because;
It's just so ugly! Even thought there's tons of texture packs and don't get me started on all those mods!
It gets quite boring at some point, the endless Hunger Games maps, the endless amount of trolling, the endless amount of... You get the idea, but this gets boring, when you don't really get anything in return.
The player base is weird, you meet a lot of people, but it's just temporary relationships, Minecraft doesn't really satisfy me socially.

It's just a load of blocks... Nothing more, nothing less!

Brace yourselves, this thread is going to burn!

TBH I agree with you. I find the game fun to pvp on and hack on but still.

I asked my brother for his opinion on this subject, he told me that PvP was one of the most fun aspects of the game.
PvP was actually also one of the things that I enjoyed the most in Minecraft, but the thing is, there's too many children in that game.

Yes that is true but minecraft is made for 10 and up. So there is bound to be alot of kids in it

When it first came out the game was really fun, new things and tons of things to do. Now the game has taken a different course, not to mention the community has really gone down hill.

Pretty much this. Minecraft classic was probably the best Minecraft.

Personally, I'm only I guess "into" Minecraft right now is because I still enjoy making plugins.

I've never really tried Minecraft Classic before, but one of my best friends told me once that, Minecraft Classic was like one of those survival horror games, the only difference was that Minecraft Classic was kid-friendly and slightly less scary, but just as intense!

LEGO is quite awesome, just the price tag is completely and utterly ridiculous! Minecraft was actually quite cheap once, if I recall correctly, meh... Do you play a lot of Minecraft?

Still, these kids are quite annoying, they aren't even trying to be polite... Even kids from 1st grade are playing this game and they aren't even 8 years old yet!

This is very debatable. Why are LEGOs so over rated? Because it expresses the creativity and design within one. Minecraft is fun because of endless possibilities and there is always something to try and achieve next.

You've got a nice point there, I live in Denmark and god! LEGO is so terrible overpriced that you would be better off with buying a new smartphone, than LEGO...

Why would it matter how old you are when playing this game? This game is really simple and made for kids. That's why they play Minecraft.
