North Koreans play 'Yankee' shoot-em-up game
The latest computer game to emerge from North Korea shows that gamers' tastes there are being nudged into line with the country's military ambitions and rhetoric. North Korea news website Arirang-Meari says that a new first-person shoot-em-up game on mobile phones called "Yankee Mopping-up Operation" is becoming popular in the country. As the name suggests, players use sniper rifles and assault weapons to kill and destroy US army troops in the style of a plethora of first-person shooter games available elsewhere in the world. Players get new weapons every time they complete a level, the website says. For players squeamish about the shooting, Arirang-Meari points out that the American cannon fodder "boasts as if they are the emperor of the world". In a country governed by "military-first" ideology and fiercely opposed to the US, the game is presented as a tool to stoke anti-Americanism. "Users are developing their will to entirely destroy the US invaders by playing the game," Arirang-Meari says. North Korean media is full of military imagery, and TV schedules are peppered with patriotic war movies or documentaries showing the country's military strength. Yankee Mopping-up Operation is developed by Sujeongcheon Information Technology Company, which also developed Soccer Fierce Battle, a football simulator with a passing resemblance to the world famous "FIFA" series of games.
Lions eat suspected poacher in South Africa
Lions have always been poached, and althrough there have been made several attempts to stop this, the matter of fact is that it still exists illegaly. However when a poacher recently tried to poach a lion in South Africa the authority have said that the Lions instead ripped him apart and ate him up leaving just his head and little of his remains. The authorites told the news that the case is still ongoing and they still haven't been able to find the John Doe's identity. However, since the Lions have left the head intact the idenity of John Doe might still be able to be located after some tests are done on his remains.Althrough it's sad what happened to this man, it's not suprising considereing the area is prone to poaching The police said just recently they have found several Lions who have head their paws and head cut off, which is quite ironic considering this story. Maybe after learning about this story poachers will learn to be carful and hopefully the proper authories will but extra security to prever further poaching in the location of this incident.
PS4 Pro | Great news for FullHD TV owners
Soon, the firmware of Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro console will be upgraded to version 5.5. In theory, the super powerful platform is particularly beneficial to users with large 4K TVs at home, but with the new software update, the company gives another reason for gamers with FullHD displays to change to the Pro version. A new feature in the firmware allows very precise and effective smoothing of the edges. It is activated manually by each PlayStation 4 Pro owner and so far, according to Sony, it boasts mostly positive feedback.
The function is called Supersample Anti-Aliasing and works in a relatively simple way - with its excess power, the console reproduces a 4K image, which at the same time is decreased to a 1080p resolution with higher picture quality or smoother edges. While some games offer graphical improvements for users with the PlayStation 4 Pro and 1080p display, the many titles do not take advantage of the system's capabilities at lower 4K screens at all. However, this feature comes directly from the PS4 Pro software and can always be applied (or almost always). Critics say the smoothing is noticeable in titles such as Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection and The Last of Us Remastered. On the other hand, however, games such as The Last Guardian and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 are starting to work at very low frames per second, which is detrimental to gamers, and therefore it is better to deactivate the feature.
Firmware 5.5 for PlayStation 4 / Pro is currently in beta testing, and it is not known when it will be available to all users.
Google reportedly exploring game streaming powered by Chromecast
Google is looking into developing a game streaming service that would allow it to stream software to a compatible Chromecast device or yet-to-be-released home console. "Yeti" will use faster Internet in 2018 to carry the service which would run similar to PlayStation Now, and Nvidia’s GeForce Now. The service will be subscription-based. An early version of this service was designed to work over a Chromecast. it's unclear how a game controller would connect to a Chromecast device though. "Yeti" is different from Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass that lets subscribers download unlimited games from a preselected pool of titles, Google's service will let users stream games directly from their servers without downloading them to a hard drive. Google has all the required resources to work on gaming project... Launching a home entertainment system would be a huge leap forward for the company.
MacOS | Security problem
A new flaw in the desktop platform of the company. It turns out that every application for macOS computers is able to record the screen at any time without the knowledge of the users, which is quite alarming. Information is of the security expert and founder of fastlane, Felix Krause.
He claims that all platform apps are programmed to make screenshots on the display over a certain period of time. Even more unpleasant is that this happens even if the program is running in the background, so it can record every pixel on the screen. Using OCR software can show what content is displayed at a given time on the screen, informs iClarified. Apple has not commented on the situation officially.
Felix Krause also added that this way, passwords and access keys from macOS device managers can be read. It's also possible from a distance to understand what web services you use or hackers to see all emails and messages you open on your computer. All this would compromise confidential information such as address, bank account details, and other personal information. Developers could lose all of the application code they are working on.
Apple intern reportedly leaked iPhone source code
A portion of Apple iOS's code was posted on ****** earlier this week. According to a report from Motherboard, the original source of the leak was a former Apple intern. The intern shared the stolen code with 5 of his friends from the iOS jailbreaking community to help them make progress with bypassing the stubborn Apple operating system. Their goal was to ensure that the code never got out of their circle of five friends, but it was shared beyond them sometime last year. The code was posted on a Disc0rd chat group, and on Reddit too a few months ago. It was posted again on ****** this week which made Apple order them to remove the code. According to Motherboard, a source at Apple states that they already knew the code was leaked even before it was posted on ******. They noted in a statement that the leaked code is 3 years old and that "the security of our products doesn’t depend on the secrecy of our source code.”

Spotlight - Marshmello x Lil Peep
As most music enthusiasts know, Lil Peep passed away in November but shortly before his passing a song was created with Marshmello. Marshmello recently dropped the visual for this song, and it's intriguing to say the least. The video is covered with bright colors and punk/edgy individuals with neon hair and colorful clothing. In an interview on Pitchfork Marshmello says his intent with this music video is to do exactly what Gus (Lil Peep) would have wanted. He says the video that's been created fits his descriptions of what he thinks Gus would have wanted. Visual producer Koenig said of the video, “Relationships have a way of overwhelming the meaning and context of physical items to the point of hijacking them. What once was just a household item might now be something that reminds us of that relationship to a point where it overpowers what that item was traditionally meant for. These objects end up developing a shared significance between those in the relationship.” He added, “Like Peep’s passing, no one got to say goodbye properly but the objects he left us (his body of work both musical and social) remain ours to share in our relationship with him.”
Don't just take my word for it, view the video for yourself:
The Hotel Owner Who Called Out a Blogger for Asking for a Free Stay Now Wants $6.5 Million From Her
If you’re not caught up, on Jan. 16, Stenson posted a screenshot to Facebook of an email Darby had sent him, in which she requested a complimentary stay at his hotel, the Charleville Lodge, in exchange for videos and social media posts shared with her followers. His disdainful post shamed her: “Jesus Christ,” Stenson wrote, “I would never in a million years ask anyone for anything for free.”
Stenson responded by posting additional updates to Facebook, including one in which he declared he is banning all bloggers from setting foot inside his businesses. He took Darby’s request to help him generate publicity, rejected it, then used it to generate way more publicity than a couple of her posts ever would have.
And he’s still not done roasting her. As of Jan. 20, Dublin-based public relations agency ClearStory had counted 114 published news articles summarizing Stenson’s disagreement with Darby, across 20 countries. These stories mentioning Darby added up to “a potential reach of 450 million people generating close to €4.3m in equivalent advertising spend,” ClearStory calculated. In other words, the back and forth has generated $5.3 million worth of publicity for Darby.

Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un Impersonators Thrown Out of Olympics
People dressed up as U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un caused a commotion when they appeared in the stands at the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony on Friday before swiftly being shown out by security staff. “We’re getting along great,” said the Kim lookalike, who declined to give his name. “We wanted to surprise everyone and bring world peace and then we’re being escorted out by security guards, which I think is really unfair,” he added. “Doesn’t everyone want peace?” The ceremony was marked by a show of unity between North and South Korea. Athletes from both countries entered the arena under a flag depicting a unified Korea as American Vice President Mike Pence and Kim’s sister, Kim Yo Jong, watched on from a VIP box. “Is my sister getting the same treatment?,” the Kim lookalike said as he was escorted out of the stadium.
Man Punches and Kicks 150-Pound Bear who Attacked His Puppy
A Maine man says he punched and kicked a 150-pound bear, scaring it away after it attacked his puppy in the woods. Twenty-nine-year-old Dustin Gray said the bear lunged at him and his 11-month-old puppy on Monday. The 6-foot-5 man tells the Bangor Daily News that he punched and kicked the bear until it fled and knocked him over in the process. Gray suffered scratches and bruises, but his Labrador mix, Clover, suffered severe puncture wounds. The dog was being treated. Gray said the attack happened near Route 1A in Dedham when he stopped to let the puppy relieve herself. The Maine Warden Service is investigating. Bear attacks are unusual and even rarer in the winter when bears are supposed to be hibernating.
