Ritalin is mainly used to regulate dopamine and norepinephrine processes in the brains of people with ADHD and narcolepsy, but it will still improve concentration in people who don't have the condition. Basically it's a CNS stimulant, so it's going to help with motivation and concentration. I've tried Ritalin and Adderall a few times to help with studying, and the best advice I can give you is to not exceed the dose suggested by your doctor. The first time I tried Adderall I went over the recommended dose (not by much) and I couldn't sleep that night.

It works. I suffer from severe ADHD and I have quite heavy concentration pills.
But that also totally depends on what you want to achieve with them.

It will make the body go into kind of overdrive and you will be working more concentrated.
