I might be uneducated on this subject but saying all firearms are illegal in sweden is a big exaggeration. You can have hunting rifles and handguns at home as long as they're stored in a weapons cabinet. If you join the homeland defence force you can also have your service gun at home. One of my friends dad has his own AK 4 at home.

As far as I know, the only valid reason for having one is if you're in i.e. the military and or police, maybe not even then.
Other than that it's just if you're a licensed hunter.
