Testing / Requesting Tips

so i got the smudge tool set it to the setting i wanted and then smudged the reder, i then went apply image and selected the layer of red and set the blending mode and opacity and did this a couple of times till i was happy

i got ya now.. but whatever i tried didnt look as appealing as what i already had so i've decided to keep it. i appreciate all the tips i've gotten from this thread and really, you are all genius's in your own way.. this is my final result and my new sig
