Private Server Security

Hey guys! Can we as a community try and start a giant list of security holes in private servers and how to fix them? This would be a big step forward in private server security!

Godmode
Stat boosting
Ability in weapon slot
Unlimited character names
Unbannable account

Duping -> get a dupe method and fix it /easy
Godmode -> use server sided code and other clients to detect hits like prod does
Stat boosting -> easy fix

This thread gave me cancer. It is sad that we even have to think about having a thread that details how to fix problems in a source this day and age with version control systems being ubiquitous.

Not really disappointed. Just felt that cataloging a how to fix said bug is the wrong way to go about it. Put up a source publicly, fix the bugs, then everyone would have access to the fixes without actually having to read a how to on the fix and implementing it themselves.

I patched just about everything except autoaim autonexus duping and then the pserver hack clients mods with godmode unbannable acc and unlimited char names and stuff... And i did it with little help, basically no help considering all i did was ask if this code would work and etc. and if they said no i would retry myself ('they' meaning skype group). Soon itll be good enough to rerelease once i finish the rest of the maps since thats all im really missing. Some quite cool custom features, but offtopic.

They are not "hacks", you are just using a bug in the web server

Oh well i always just considered them hacks because when people release hack clients they usually make it so people can edit stats and change name to whatever and etc.

how do you fix this Ability in weapon slot -> easy fix
