I'm using Windows 10 too. But for me still works now. You can try to install DBD to system drive.

If the game is installed in steam folder properly then it has to work. Program reads steam location from registry and then finds DBD, so if something's wrong with that - correct it

have you thought about having your program throw an error message if the path is null

if there's a problem with getting steam path it will throw an error, and there's also a check when pressing start if it is empty or not, but no messages if it's actually empty. if only i could update the first post i'd reupload another version with shit tons of checks but originally it was made just for me alone so i didn't put so much effort on this since everything worked fine

DBD may be on whatever drive it just has to be installed in steam folder (default path). And no, you can't use this to play online, cause you're disabling anti-cheat which is required to be enabled to play. This is only for hacking, then you restart the game normally and play.
