I was noted as being a legacy hacker by someone in the lobby; if they reported me...which was about a week or so ago so I guess they didn’t...would they have no proof due to my profile being private, or do the devs look into reports reporting legacy hacking without proof?

There's nothing devs can do when your profile is private.
Pretty much everytime someone has been banned is when there is evidence. Exactly why did someone suspect you of being a cheater?
If you're playing rank 20 with crazy offerings and perks with legacy gear then it's clear that you're repping hacked shit, especially if you played bad.
Just make sure when you're cheating on DBD that you delete all screenshots, set your profile to private, don't add anyone on steam that isn't your actual friend (e.g. don't add randomers that play dbd) and don't type in chat and make sure to play at a decent rank. You can change your rank to something more fitting using Steam Achievement Manager.
