Furthermore, you fail to understand that we are not other countries. Our history with firearms is much different than every other country. Just because it worked for you does not mean it will work for us. While I do agree mentally disturbed individuals should not have legal access to own firearms, I do not believe stripping the rights from the millions of law abiding citizens that want to own guns for defensive or recreational purposes is fair.
It would work, how can it work for every other country in the world, but the 2nd hugest country in the world cannot? It has nothing to do with the history, it has to do that you or your country does not trust the government well enough to protect them from any relative harm that may come at you, all other countries can prevent that from not having a public or have limited access to firearms, every country has black markets not only US, and every countries citizens can get a illegal firearm if they so want to, but least every country doesn't have mentally disturbed people to the point where they would go to a school and start shooting at students, teachers and principle because of said individual was thrown out from the school, or some adult planning to do the school shootings or any other mass murder, only US citizens have that kind of reputation which causes them to be mentally retarded and act inappropriate cos of what was happening to them.

Even in Estonia there was a movie made where there was a person who was bullied to the point where he killed those bullies among killed himself after allowing the friend who was with him in the movie to be alive, and guess what, that movie has taught a lot of things, which for some reason, most of schools and/or properties in your country or rather US is not able to do, cos again government isn't trusted enough, having a gun history makes it even worse, if US can't get their shit together, then it wouldn't come to me as a surprise if there is going to be another economic depression in US like there was one before/during World War II (and, yes I have studied World War II, US history, and I ensure you that I know quite bit about the history of this huge country and what may happened / may not happened).

This text is actually fucking aids to read.

No, it would not work. No other country has every had millions of guns in circulation, legal and illegal. Not to mention the far-right wingers would not even let it happen. There would be a literal civil war. You know nothing of America if you don't understand this. And yes, we don't trust out government. Why would we? I hate the idea of the government having too much power over us. There is a second amendment for a reason, regardless. We have the right to own firearms and this right cannot and will not bet taken away from us. The fact that you think other countries don't have mentally disturbed people goes to show how ignorant you are. Not even worth replying to honestly. And how did you come to the conclusion that we are going to fall into an economic depression due to guns? There is no relation there at all.

You are just another ignorant Brit.

No other country has so many weapons on citizens because they are not stupid, which in this case the whole America as a country is because of the allowance of having guns in everyone's hands, be that gun in the hands of four year old, or in the hands of a 80 year old, there is a difference, and that difference makes a huge difference on someones life, and your second hand amendment is the very REASON the country has so many mass murdering, no other country has so many of them in a year just like States have, and you are telling me that I have no idea what is going on.

Fact #01: List of School shootings in the United States
Fact #02: List of School Massacres by Death Toll
Fact #03: School Shootings

Yes, there have been mass shootings in other countries around the world, but none of them have been recorded for this long as America has, there have been over 300 school shootings since 2013, how many countries have had nearly 300 school shootings before? Not many.

"Another ignorant brit" - I would say that least I can have an argument, you're just some angry nobody in MPGH who thinks he is a "know-it-all" while not knowing whole a lot, even if you did live in the most autistic country in the world... Second hand admentment or my penis, my penis can do better job from keeping people from killing than your secondhand admentment.

"No other country has so many weapons on citizens because they are not stupid"

Having the right to own firearms is not stupid. There are legitimate reasons to own firearms including personal self-defense, recreational use, and defense against a tyrannical government, if that was to ever be the case. You simply have limited understanding of this and all you see is the negative aspects of a country full of firearms. I don't think you realize how many lives guns have saved. You don't usually hear stories of these events as thats not what the bias media wants you to hear. I'd be glad to refer you to some if interested.

"which in this case the whole America as a country is because of the allowance of having guns in everyone's hands, be that gun in the hands of four year old, or in the hands of a 80 year old"

So by your knowledge, everyone in America is stupid for the fact that we allow legal gun ownership for defense and recreational use? As for 4-year-olds owning guns, that is absurd. 18-years-old is the legal age limit to own a firearm, and most any parent would not allow their 4-year-old to fire a gun unless heavily supervised.

"and your second hand amendment is the very REASON the country has so many mass murdering"

The most absolutely ridiculous thing I've ever heard someone say regarding this topic. No, the reason for these mass murders is not because of guns. The reason for these mass murders is because of the mentally disturbed people that commit these horrid acts. Look at any other country that has had terror acts occur. The weapon of choice is not always guns. Knives, bombs, and even cars/trucks have been used to kill mass amounts of people in a short amount of time. See below for a list of examples.

Timeline of recent terror attacks against the Westⓘ

Read through that list and tell me how many terror attacks you see that don't involve the United States and that do not involve guns. See how many involve trucks and bombs?

The facts you listed are known by me already. They don't prove your point.

"Yes, there have been mass shootings in other countries around the world, but none of them have been recorded for this long as America has, there have been over 300 school shootings since 2013, how many countries have had nearly 300 school shootings before? Not many."

Yeah, not all of those "school shootings" were mass murders or even remotely lethal. Most of those "school shootings" are simply unintentional discharges where no one is even harmed. How about you actually look into what you are linking me before trying to use it as a legitimate point to strengthen your case.

"I would say that least I can have an argument, you're just some angry nobody in MPGH who thinks he is a "know-it-all" while not knowing whole a lot, even if you did live in the most autistic country in the world... Second hand admentment or my penis, my penis can do better job from keeping people from killing than your secondhand admentment."

Okay, first off, I'm not angry in the slightest. What gave you the notion that I was upset? Second off, I never claimed to be a know-it-all. Thirdly, it sounds to me like you are just another generic American hating foreigner who knows little to nothing about American culture and only sees the negative aspects of America. I've come across plenty of you in the past. Nothing new. Also, learn how to spell amendment.

Now, this is my proposal to what I think we should do in the United States to prevent these mass shootings from occurring so frequently or at all. I believe that guns should not be banned, but heavily regulated. Every single person that attempt to purchase a firearm needs an extremely thorough background check and mental examination, even more so than we have now. Banning guns completely in the United States would only lead to absolute chaos and pandemonium, as well as lead to another civil war. Criminals that own illegal firearms would be able to assault and rob people with little to no consequence due to the fact that they know no one legally owns a firearm to protect themselves. Has his thought even crossed you mind? I live in the United States. I understand what its like to live here, you don't. Stop pretending that you do.

Finally, do I believe this individual should of owned or had any sort of access to an AR-15? No, I do not. He was obviously mentally disturbed and that is on his guardians and the FBI as he was even reported to them a couple times. Something in this system is wrong, but it's not the right to legally purchase firearms. The system needs a rework as completely stripping guns from the hands of millions of innocent law-abiding Americans is not a viable or realistic option.

To invalidate your entire point.. Any individual can aquire a form of weapon wether it be gun, knife, or whatever. It does not matter the country or the laws. Where there is a will, there is a way. No matter how much "Gun Control" advocated or laws put in place, people will find a way.

See @Ben this is sensible. But of course nothing can be done ?

They have done what Cursed suggested to an extent. If you do some homework on some of these tragic events, the killer had no history or sign of mental illness in some of those cases. It really sucks that a lot of efforts are in vain but where there's a figurative road block like a law, there's someone who finds a loophole.

Yes but at least if someone can only get a knife then the number of people they can kill is instantly reduced. Then you have already accomplished something.

Yes some people may be really determined but not all will therefore reducing the number of attacks.

''No matter how much "Gun Control" advocated or laws put in place, people will find a way.'' Its not about stopping something 100% that is not possible, it is about reducing the likelihood and fatalities. If you make something harder for someone to do they will be less likely to be able to do it. It is that simple.

If you make something harder to do, you give illicit people a market to make bank on. Sure a knife could kill less people, but it doesn't change much other than the person being easier to be overpowered by a staff member, cop, etc.

Well it's a good thing I said brain... Yes Dave... Your brain is in your head but your head is not your brain. Also a bullet to the head will disable a target, even if it's temporary.

I would rather put my life on the line to save others than cower. But you the internet badass that doesn't even know what benching is. Keep benching your keyboard and worshiping Justin Trudeau. I'll be the one trying to serve my community/country bucko.
And when the next 30 kids are mowed down by a crazy lunatic, at least you can sleep at night knowing you feel a little more safer with an AR-15 instead of a pistol! Woo!

Not really sure what you mean about "benching your keyboard and worshiping Justin Trudeau" but I'll mark it down as nonsense spoken from 16 year old kid with no experiences irl who thinks he grasps reality but really doesnt.

Of course you don't know what benching is, proving my point exactly. But you're right though, being a sitting duck is much better than fighting. That's why the Paris attacks didn't do much to the people of Paris... Oh wait... THEY CAUSED A BUNCH OF DAMAGE. Even with strict gun laws. It's just going to be the same shit over and over, once the AR-15 is ban, it'll be something else... And something else... And something else. Would be too funny if Canada didn't have the USA as their big brother for a while.

Ever wonder why Japan decided not to invade the USA? Because the US citizens would be a problem as we have guns. So glad your profit Shillary didn't get elected, as she already had plans to dearm America.

Love how all you libtards think we MUST BAN THE AR-15... B-But not the M14, it's just fine... Though they're essentially the same weapon.

I'm all for the ban of guns... As long as we ban motor vehicles, planes, doctors, sharp objects and possible bomb parts. The world will be a happy place then.

If and when the shit hits the fan, I'll be prepared... You?

Oh that's right... Hit people with your computer after an EMP goes off.

You really want to make the world a safer place from these psychotics, stop encouraging so much violence. There is no value of life these days. Guns are not the problem, people are the problem. Be responsible, work for a concealed carry and vow to protect your community the best way you can. I know Canada is full of pussies and guns are big and scary... But grow a fucking pair.

If I am set on doing a job... But cannot get the tool for it... I think I'll.... GET A DIFFERENT TOOL???@?!?!?! Next thing I'm running over 80 fucking people in a truck. GG

Please stop using Paris as an example, it is not at all comparable. It was committed by organised and determined terrorists with the support of a number of people, news sites list over 10 people involved . Not one school kid, you really think a school kid acting on his own in Paris could have pulled of such an thing ? Of-course not.\

Well done your a Prepper, nothing most likely will happen in your lifetime. You think an EMP will go off or it is going to all end ? You are more likely to be hit and killed by lightning. Why not do something to avoid the chance of this happening ? F**King idiot

When did anyone say the M14 should not be banned ? just because people use the AR15 as an example of a gun that should be banned does mean they think other guns should not.

You are just saying stuff that is not true. Trump repealed laws that were put in place as other people have mentioned. But I guess you do not read anything that does not agree with what you think in your tiny pea size brain. Your are like arguing with a brick wall . There is so much that could be done to reduce the likely hood of a mass shooting and if one does happen reduce the number of fatalities that occur. The same as has happened with cars and is continuing to happen.

It is the same as with planes, air crash investigators did not just say oh well when a plane crashes and say there is nothing we can do. They study the cause and make changes to the planes so that it does not happen again.

When did i say it was sad in general to have a CC ? Did you read what I said you decide to just twist to what you think ? I said teachers needing weapons to protect students from mass shootings is a sad point to be at as a civilization.

I am not sure what guns being banned where I am at has to do with anything ? When I have a family I want to send my kids to school and for them to be safe, period. Do you not ? Or your fine with them growing up in a society where teachers need guns to stop them from being mowed down at school ?
Clearly the forefathers didn't intend the right to bear arms to include the right to easily mow down highschoolers. It was meant to allow greater autonomy for individuals (to hunt and defend property in the case that one cannot call the cops).

Therefore, one can conclude that the right to bear arms, or at least, the application of the right to bear arms, is inadequately designed.

The assumption is that school shootings won't be lowered by restricting gun circulation or restricting gun access (assuredly because those who commit mass shootings will seek illegal methods to acquire guns) and that it will be managed by having more gun access.

The main thing I ask is why does America have a thing with school shootings and not somewhere like, say, Canada, where I don't remember really ANYTHING having to do with school shootings happening over there. It could be because:
1) It is a lot easier to acquire a gun illegally in the U.S than in Canada
2) High schoolers, even those who are inclined to commit mass shootings, don't have the resources, network, or interest to acquire guns illegally.

I am more inclined to believe that while both possibilities may be present, the second possibility is more apparent as to why Canada doesn't have school shootings. Sure, it may be easier to just find or take guns that are circulating in the American underworld than in the Canadian underworld (because it doesn't raise as much red flags when smuggled or circulated illegally in the U.S than in Canada) BUT the assumption most people make is that it doesn't' matter how hard it is to get a gun, it will be done. Surely that will mean that someone in Canada who wants to commit a mass shooting on their school will traverse the Canadian underworld to find SOMETHING. But they don't. It is a rare event in Canadian schools or German schools when compared to the U.S.

Therefore, it must mean that it is most likely that youths who are inclined towards a mass shooting are less inclined to commit it if they can't quickly or easily access the guns necessary for it. If they did, then Canada and Germany should have more frequent mass shootings, somewhat similar to the U.S, because all three of them have surviving criminal elements within them.

This doesn't necessarily tear down the assumption that someone who will commit a shooting will do it no matter what the cost but it does reduce the certainty of that statement.

Based on that, I would suggest that restriction and tracking of legal firearms and their gun owners should take place if one wants to make sure youths aren't able to take legally acquired firearms on a whim.

One should first off have a license to acquire a gun in any means. A youth shouldn't be able to simply buy it whenever he wants.
Secondly, license plates, tracking ownership of firearms, and tracking the mental aptitude, physical environment around gun, family relations, and work relations of gun owners helps make sure that the environment around gun owners don't breed possibilities of someone deciding to commit a mass murder or take someone else's gun to commit a mass murder. I imagine that it is pretty easy for a teen to take the family gun and shoot up their school if the gun is mounted on a fireplace or kept on the side of a bed. So managing the physical environment around the gun and managing the situation of the teen, their parents, and any other person who often is at that house will be very important towards making sure that the teen can't 1)Take the gun whenever they want and 2)Get to the point where they want to commit a mass shooting.

Of course this costs money, employment, databases, and requires greater government power to intrude on the privacy of gun owners which doesn't sound appealing at all. This is also vulnerable to the risk of bad data (Maybe the reporting was wrong on one individual) which always leads to the risk of a massacre. This also doesn't take away the fringe elements of the population that commit mass murders around the world as well as America. It is solely just an idea for how guns should be managed if we want to reduce school shootings.

It's rare in any European high schooler or otherwise to commit a crime unlike it is in the states.

Whoever thinks more guns are going to make the world safer are fucking morons. Everyone having a gun to stop a potential gunman is like putting out fire with fire. It's like what happened to airports after 9/11. The fact of the matter is the majority of people don't need semi-automatic or automatic rifles, they are meant to do a shitload of damage in a very short period of time.
Give this man a medal! Taking away guns nor allowing guns will change any of this. It's the mentality that needs to change. Why do people resort to violence for problems that they can't handle? I don't have a phd in regards to any of this but letting teachers/others carry guns is probably the most stupidest thing I've ever heard.
