Yes ofcourse, that does not mean you should not try though. Not everyone finds a loophole. You do not know if they displayed any signs, they did not have to speak to any trained mental health professional before buying all their guns. The signs are going to be much less obvious to just teachers and untrained professionals. Maybe if they had had to do what CYBERPVNK suggested and had a extremely thorough mental examination something may have been picked up on.

Even simple safeguards, like limited the number of guns you can buy in a period of time with a linked database etc

Of course it does change things, much less fatalities. Attacks with knives rarely kill more than a few people. You just reduced the number of deaths by 80%. That is progress. How can you think that is not much of a change ?

Some people don't exhibit any behaviors that someone could tell and some don't show them until later. There's not exactly a for sure method to tell someone's intentions. Some people may be triggered by things like losing their savings at a casino, wife leaving them, or some other event. There's not actually much that can be done about it, there are also people that manipulate the system and know exactly what to say and do.

You do not know that, it is have never been tried. How can you comment on the effectiveness of something and simply say there not much which can be done ?

The problem is you effectively concluding in general nothing can be done, so why try right ? I have already decided regardless nothing can be done.

This is clearly the problem in America and why nothing is happening.

I'm not concluding, I am stating facts about people "flying under the radar." The nothing can be done is just your misguided assumption. I suggest you just stop looking for ways to make this a country matter. My source for the information regarding people not exhibiting things and flying under the radar is from years of working with people with mental illness through adult foster care.

Yes some people may be really determined but not all will therefore reducing the number of attacks.

''No matter how much "Gun Control" advocated or laws put in place, people will find a way.'' Its not about stopping something 100% that is not possible, it is about reducing the likelihood and fatalities. If you make something harder for someone to do they will be less likely to be able to do it. It is that simple.
This is not my own post, but something to read and consider.

Stats per the fbi:

There are 30,000 gun related deaths per year by firearms, and this number is not disputed. U.S. population 324,059,091 as of Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Do the math: 0.00925% of the population dies from gun related actions each year. Statistically speaking, this is insignificant! What is never told, however, is a breakdown of those 30,000 deaths, to put them in perspective as compared to other causes of death:

• 65% of those deaths are by suicide which would never be prevented by gun laws
• 15% are by law enforcement in the line of duty and justified
• 17% are through criminal activity, gang and drug related or mentally ill persons – gun violence
• 3% are accidental discharge deaths

So technically, "gun violence" is not 30,000 annually, but drops to 5,100. Still too many? Well, first, how are those deaths spanned across the nation?
• 480 homicides (9.4%) were in Chicago
• 344 homicides (6.7%) were in Baltimore
• 333 homicides (6.5%) were in Detroit
• 119 homicides (2.3%) were in Washington D.C. (a 54% increase over prior years)

So basically, 25% of all gun crime happens in just 4 cities. All 4 of those cities have strict gun laws, so it is not the lack of law that is the root cause.

This basically leaves 3,825 for the entire rest of the nation, or about 75 deaths per state. That is an average because some States have much higher rates than others. For example, California had 1,169 and Alabama had 1.

Now, who has the strictest gun laws by far? California, of course, but understand, so it is not guns causing this. It is a crime rate spawned by the number of criminal persons residing in those cities and states. So if all cities and states are not created equally, then there must be something other than the tool causing the gun deaths.

Are 5,100 deaths per year horrific? How about in comparison to other deaths? All death is sad and especially so when it is in the commission of a crime but that is the nature of crime. Robbery, death, rape, assault all is done by criminals and thinking that criminals will obey laws is ludicrous. That's why they are criminals.

But what about other deaths each year?
• 40,000+ die from a drug overdose–THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT!
• 36,000 people die per year from the flu, far exceeding the criminal gun deaths
• 34,000 people die per year in traffic fatalities(exceeding gun deaths even if you include suicide)

Now it gets good:
• 200,000+ people die each year (and growing) from preventable medical errors. You are safer in Chicago than when you are in a hospital!

• 710,000 people die per year from heart disease. It’s time to stop the double cheeseburgers! So what is the point? If Obama and the anti-gun movement focused their attention on heart disease, even a 10% decrease in cardiac deaths would save twice the number of lives annually of all gun-related deaths (including suicide, law enforcement, etc.). A 10% reduction in medical errors would be 66% of the total gun deaths or 4 times the number of criminal homicides......Simple, easily preventable 10% reductions!

So you have to ask yourself, in the grand scheme of things, why the focus on guns? It's pretty simple.:
Taking away guns gives control to governments.

The founders of this nation knew that regardless of the form of government, those in power may become corrupt and seek to rule as the British did by trying to disarm the populace of the colonies. It is not difficult to understand that a disarmed populace is a controlled populace.

Thus, the second amendment was proudly and boldly included in the U.S. Constitution. It must be preserved at all costs.

So the next time someone tries to tell you that gun control is about saving lives, look at these facts and remember these words from Noah Webster: "Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed, as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword, because the whole body of the people are armed and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States. A military force at the command of Congress can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power."

Remember, when it comes to "gun control," the important word is “control," not “gun."

You are just saying stuff that is not true. Trump repealed laws that were put in place as other people have mentioned. But I guess you do not read anything that does not agree with what you think in your tiny pea size brain. Your are like arguing with a brick wall . There is so much that could be done to reduce the likely hood of a mass shooting and if one does happen reduce the number of fatalities that occur. The same as has happened with cars and is continuing to happen.

It is the same as with planes, air crash investigators did not just say oh well when a plane crashes and say there is nothing we can do. They study the cause and make changes to the planes so that it does not happen again.

When did i say it was sad in general to have a CC ? Did you read what I said you decide to just twist to what you think ? I said teachers needing weapons to protect students from mass shootings is a sad point to be at as a civilization.

I am not sure what guns being banned where I am at has to do with anything ? When I have a family I want to send my kids to school and for them to be safe, period. Do you not ? Or your fine with them growing up in a society where teachers need guns to stop them from being mowed down at school ?

You can't read into anything can you? Nobody is saying to JUST ban Ar-15. It's an example of a weapon when used in a debate, and it's also the weapon that was used to kill these students. When I say "AR-15" you can infer that I'm talking about all semi-automatic weapons in general. You're just a braindead retard who's not capable of rational thought.

Is the only use for motor vehicles to kill and destroy? Planes? Doctors? Sharp objects? Possible bomb parts? Just wondering. When a bomb goes off the threat is immediately over, when a car is destroyed the threat is immediately over, when someone is chasing you with a knife you have the ability to defend yourself, when someone is shooting you with a semi-automatic weapon there is no saving grace. Reload the clip and resume killing. A "tool" that's only use is to kill.

Who's the bigger pussy, the one who says that a pistol isn't adequate enough for self defense and need a weapon capable of killing masses, or the one who wants to stop senseless killings because of said person who feels scared without a weapon capable of killing masses? You keep talking this big game but you've made it clear that deep down you're scared of everything.

Brought up the terror attacks in Paris because those poor souls couldn't defend themselves. In America, we have that right.

Japan had a plan to invade, though they didn't. Every other house where I live has a gun, don't think that'll play into any enemies plans? tst tst

Was talking on another forum where the M14 was being used as an example. But thanks for clarifying in your head an AR-15 is just like every other semi auto weapon.

When a truck is plowing down people on a street... It doesn't just get destroyed by the people they're running over. Also what happens when an active shooter meets resistance from one that is trained and uses guns responsibly? Like lol? Guns will always be into play... But you would rather let the gunman cause the most damage without trying to stop them... I do understand you Canadians now.

Shit can always hit the fan... That's why we have amendments and rights for it. XD

Not sure who said pistols are not adequate enough... Man you sure do like twisting things.
>Or the one that wants to stop senseless killings

Oh shit. Forgot. You're the the man! Go stop them killings bro. Please man! Go do it. Wonder how you plan on stopping a mad man with a gun... Certainly not with another gun. Ohhh I know, let's ban all the guns! Let's have our government take away our rights and steal billions of dollars from their people. Let's make it so the average person who cares about their community doesn't have a chance to defend himself against the crazy fuck that will find that gun whether it's ban or not. XD

Go stop them killings man. You're the guy! Banning guns will for sure stop all the killings man. Damn I wish I could have some of the shit you're on.

That's with literally anything. Same can be said about cars too.
Giving guns to more people is not a solution, nor is removing them completely.

Look at the Paris attack back in 2015... if the citizens were allowed to carry without going through extensive channels, the situation could have gone a whole different way.

The mentality has to change. People need to learn that violence is not a solution.
