You should probably get more posts, that allows you to send pm's to other members

You need 15 posts I believe

You need at least 15 sensible forum posts to be able to do that.

You can add peoples through IM and talk to them instead

As the others mentioned, you need at least 15 posts to send PMs; nonetheless, you can send friend requests or IMs regardless of your posts count.
