What's the best looking menu some 1 has done without sprites like with drawlines and stuff... couse iam thinking of making sumin sweet with lines...

Use vertex buffers and trianglestrips then, you can do much more that way.

Like gradients.

it took me 2hour's to draw those 7 line's....
