We later learned that it's an old glitch, but at the time, we didn't know/care.

I only play single player, and the best I've accomplished is a cave about 2 1/2 miles wide and a half mile tall, or covering an entire continent with only three buckets of water.

It's pretty montonous work, but seeing an entire continent covered in water from only a bucket is awesome.
