if it doesnt use a secondary checksum all you have to do is place the modified hfs in your vindictus folder :3
hfssign
which hfs file did you try to edit?
That uses a checksum, and requires the use of hfssign.
Grab the original file from your vindictus hfs folder and use VZipFlip to get the .zip version. Then, open the .zip file(do NOT extract) and update the files inside of the .zip archive directly(meaning, make changes to the files inside of the .zip without actually extracting them into a new folder). When you're done, use VZipFlip again to revert the .zip into its hfs version and use the hfssign tool on that.

Install MSVC++ 2010 runtimes and restart your computer.
fixxxxxxed
VZipFlipV6 has been released by AzuIsLeet using and incorporating the data and algorithm from hfssign.
Just to make sure I got this right... With the new vZipFlipv6 you won't need to use hfssign?
And if anyone needs the link PM me I know how some of you suck at Google.
*edit- Answering my own question outloud: Yes this means we don't need hfssign. Just zipTOhfs with vZipFlip6 and good to go! Awesome.
