Someone tell me how the 'grading' system works
Like your year groups you guys got shit like 8th grade and 10th grade and freshemn or w/e
we got years year 1 = first year of school year = 15-16 year olds etc
How does your system work?

Order of schooling in US.

Pre-School -> Kindergarten (started at age 5) -> Grades 1 - 12 (12 years of schooling) -> College

Grade 9 = Freshman
Grade 10 = Sophomore
Grade 11 = Junior
Grade 12 = Senior

Freshman - Year 9 students
Sophomore - Year 10 students
Junior - Year 11 students
Senior - Year 12 students

1-5 is Elementory
6-8 is middle
9-12 is high
12+ is college

Freshman is 9th grade
Softmore is 10th grade
Junior 11th
Senior 12th.

8th Grader =14
Freshman = 15
Sophomores = 16
Juniors = 17
Seniors = 18

college fo me at 17. and my old class mate was like 15.

In England, full time education is compulsory for all children from aged 5 up to the age of 16.

There is also a non-mandatory nursery system for toddlers and infants.

The year system is like this:

3 Nursery - Nursery School
4 Reception - Primary School
5 Year 1 - Primary School
6 Year 2 - Primary School
7 Year 3 - Primary School
8 Year 4 - Primary School
9 Year 5 - Primary School
10 Year 6 - Primary School

11 Year 7 - Secondary School/High School
12 Year 8 - Secondary School/High School
13 Year 9 - Secondary School/High School
14 Year 10 - Secondary School/High School
15 Year 11 - Secondary School/High School
16 Year 12 - Sixth Form/College
17 Year 13 - Sixth Form/College

After this, people may progress and advance to a National University to study something more advanced and sector specific.
