Didn't bother to write all the specs, didn't think people would take that much intrest.. but yeah its a CAS 7 set..

What's the point of that?
1600mhz is already good enough for a gamer?
What difference would it make?
Please elaborate.

Jakob, you're building a new computer right?
What about case and cooling and other stuff?

Updating/Re-building my dads 2005 rig.
Should've been more vague in the original post, sorry.

Erm, keeping the same case, everything'll still fit.

As for the cooling, i bought the VGA cooler rev. 2 icy vision about a month ago.

What is the exact case? If it's an old, generic model with terrible airflow I'd recommend getting a new one.
And really a VGA cooler is completely unnecessary if you don't even have proper CPU/RAM cooling; even a cheap Hyper 212+ could make a load of difference.

You should buy a good CPU Liquid cooler.
It's 100% safe.
You bought i7 2600k, you're gonna do overclocking right?
If you're not then you just wasted some money, shoulda went with just an i7 2600.
Get a Corsair Hydro H50 or something.
What is the size of your exhaust fan?
What mm?

before you read on, do know that i am a noob with computer hardware and building, watched dad do it a few times, decided to finally get a new pc for myself, going to build it with the help from dad (am only 15).

and, probably wont go buying any fancy cooling for now, even if it does a way better job, because i did quite recently get teh vga cooler.

and yes, plans are to overclock the i7 atleast a little, but probably not for a while.

Your argument between 1600mhz speed and 1800mhz is pretty much irrelevant, CAS timings is where the performance differences shine through.
This.

Yes Jakob, please list ALL your specs in full detail. I feel sad every time someone buys a great setup with terrible, generic cooling.
And I'd honestly recommend getting an SSD. Preferably a Crucial M4 or something else Marvell.

+ your rig will spank BF3 hard.
it's kinda like mine so i like it

just took that.
40 under what load??

I would recommend air cooling instead for first time build... unless this isn't.

Under load means around idle?

Anything I can throw at it pretty much. I can play bc2 and play shit off of youtube etc etc and not break 40c, encoding shit in vegas wont make it break 40c, packing and unpacking multiple archives wont make it break 40c.

IBT high - very high load? HyperPi 32M? Or any heavy bench.

Cause BC2 is really pathetic...

Its also worth mentioning that its an AMD, maximum operating temperature is 65c, way lower than what intels run at.
