Hey I start up vindictus. Hackshield opens up and is 10% done and then it says cannot connect to server. Please help =S

I also had all firewall's down so that isnt the problem.
I have reinstalled the game twice so it isnt that either.

Fix them please, this board doesnt support HTM :/

@Nico is it closed beta or something? Just saw somone saying they have same prob but they have a beta key. The error is now Updating has taken to long or something like that. Maybe send me HackShield folder?

The initial bar that you're seeing is a file checking bar. It's basically making sure that you have the necessary files to update.
This being the case, it's one of two things.
1. Your proxy FAILS and is keeping you from getting access to their site (even some host proxies do this too, mcafee gateway for instance.)
2. Your files are corrupt. Go into the nexon/en-us directory, and delete the config file that has your game version in it (can't tell you the name since I'm redo-ing my Operating system at the moment, and don't have vindictus installed.) then delete the hackshield folder from the nexon folder entirely, and run vindictus, and let it update.
That should fix it.
If not, lemme know, and I'll do my best to help.

@dracconus I have a feeling it is McAfee Gateway. Do you know how to delete it? I cant find it in my system but it always pops up when I open a launcher. Like I open cross and all 3 pages are blocked by it.
It is the only McAfee Product I have so it isnt from my antivirus

I need to find out how to delte McAfee Gateway and I cant even find it nor can any program I have used

What the his is McaFee gateway? It might be a virus. I had this virus called MsRemoval Tool which was a fake anti-virus.

Well anyways if it IS a virus, then run computer in safemode with networking (press f8 while turning on computer). Then download and install malware bytes and update, then Run a full scan or quick scan (quick scan recommended)

McAfee isnt a virus. Its just a shitty antivirus that should have its company shut down.
Anyway its my proxy but I think ima do system restore :S

Think of it as a really advanced firewall in laments terms.
There's not many ways to bypass it without disabling it.

The ONLY way that I've found to play vindictus past that is by installing vindictus on a VPN, and using it from there.
You need a software level Proxy to do what you're trying to.
my suggestion
Stop trying to play vindictus at school unless you're ready to pay a monthly fee to do so.
