Do NOT use .GIF unless absolutely necessairy, like in a moving signature. Use .PNG for higher quality.

Good for a first, try reading a few tutorials and get to know the tools in photoshop.

Start with the basics follow basic tutorials. Do trial and error its the best way to learn how to use it.
