First sig/looking to get started

Well I made this just stumbling around photoshop trying to get the hang of it
(Didn't use tuts just prior knowledge)

hmmm very good for a first.Maybe better lighting. The render needs to be brighter. The bg is very boring. The text (if your gona put it there) Make it bigger and next to his left shoulder.

Well its better then the first sig that i made. Although the background is a little plain.

Better than the usual first tries. Keep the coming.

This may be your first signature, but I'm assuming you had prior knowledge of the workings of photoshop. amirite?

A little, I do year 13 design but most of my work is by hand I rarely use Photoshop.
(My design teacher doesn't know how to use Photoshop so if we do want to use it we have to learn it ourselves)
I'm trying to get use to it now after seeing some of the stuff you can make using it.
