1- copy patcher_cf and paste it to the same folder
2- run the game from patcher_cf_copy

I've already found a solution for the patch error
when u patch and get a continuous error, then do the following:
run the patcher_cf, then AS FAST AS U CAN go back to crossfire folder and rename the patcher_cf to any other random name (just hit some key with ur hand) and press enter
remember to be really fast

suppose I was still with the error!
not really any good you encyst to update it, because it would give error and would never upgrade, the stage would be right to download the latest version of crossfire or wait until the problem / error is over!
