I feel like super downs and I have no idea lol.
Make sure you have the UpToDateInfo.dat file in the same directory as the HFS file you are editing
still trying again.

Has to be a dat file, and in the folder near the hfssign.exe
Following up on what Pie said, it seems you have the option ticked to hide known extensions, make sure you're putting the .dat at the end of UpToDateInfo.dat in the command prompt.
ok not sure what im missing but i still get hfssign to freeze when trying to resign it. im pretty sure it has been covered but what am i doing wrong? not editing any of it just trying to get used to it again

Is it just freezing or is there an error message? What version of Windows are you using, and are all your dependencies up-to-date?

if hfssign is freezing try this:
1. you run CMD as admin
2. delete the __ at the end of the file name
3. make sure all files are in the same directory (uptodateinfo.dat from vindi folder)
4. Input the function as follows:

hfssign uptodateinfo.dat yourhfsname.hfs

5. move new hfs and .dat file to vindi folder
6. ??? profit
ok what i wasnt doing was actually using hfs. i was still following the old way to do it with the new hsfsign. think i got it now

so i do have it. i just dont know which ones are of actual use. as im not a coder yet and havnt read what does what. could someone help me out. if you prefer could send me a pm.

since i dont know which one to use im just converting them all to .zip gonna take a while

EDIT: i decided to just leave it to the pros.

You're amusing, the "pros" already got their DLLs edited with console commands.
This is aimed toward beginners who are willing to try to learn a tiny bit, this is a simple convert, edit plain text and reconvert, nothing more.

Error 37 typically occurs if you've attempted to convert two times, one on top of another UpToDateInfo.dat.
Use your original UpToDateInfo.dat (You were warned to backup your files) to recreate another .hfs. and UpToDateInfo.dat.
I have some quetions about hfs file, so plz anwer!
After convert hfs to zip, Do i really need to use sqlite to modify or just use notepad or wordpad?
And how to use sqlite to open these file? I already downloaded sqlite lastest verison, but dunno how to use it to open these files. But it seems easy when open them with notepad or wordpad?

You don't need to know how to code or do anything technical to edit .hfs files. All you need is an understanding of the gameplay and lots of time (to experiment).

Use the correct tool to edit the associated file. AFAIK there is only one sqlite database in which you should use a database manager. Text files should obviously be opened in a text editor. The same can be said with the rest of the file types.

well to understand the functions alittle better it would help to know alittle. but soon im going to python and work my way up.

hopefully i will be able to contribute to the forum for once.
I've extracted, edited, repacked and then used hfssign, replace the old .dat, add in the new .hfs and delete the currentinfo, launch the game and it starts patching.
O_o Any ideas?
you delet currentinfo ? ok thats the reason for patching ^^
Still is patching without deleting it :/
