Umm its alright for GIMP. I've personally never used GIMP before, but the sigs that are made using it tend to come out not looking that great. If you want to start making decent sigs i suggest you get ps.
Seriously get photoshop. If you don't know how to, google "utorrent", "btjunkie" and "noob guide on how to torrent". If you can't run PS then buy a new PC.
