Well, I've talked with several people about it, I've tested it out a little over here using the built in element inspect function in Chrome.
Of which, most of them agree with me on this.
I know it's not my place to tell anyone to alter anything, but I'll have to ask on a larger scale.
Who here find the donator tag and color very unattractive? I understand the thought behind it, I assume it was going to look like gold.
It ended up looking like barf-yellow, and that's quite unfortunate for those that did donate to the page, not only because we spend a substantial amount of time here, but we wanted to help the page out. Not saying that's why everyone donate, I donated for that and the avatar size.
So lets run this down.
Who here thinks that it's time for a change on the donator tag?
You can also motivate your choice if you like, I encourage that.
Here's my idea, instead of trying to have it look like "gold (Barf)" we could have it look like platinum (gray-ish).
That way we get a change, the color isn't occupied and aesthetically it's more pleasing for the eyes.
I have also heard that it has been brought up before but ended up being hassle for some reason.
But I think it's a possibility that we could have a "dropshadow" underneath our name to make it easier to view a gray color ontop of a light background as well, I know it's possible, I've done it. (css: text-shadow 0px 0px 3px #cdcdcd (or any other color darker than the base color))
Here's my example. Ignore the fact that it's missing an icon, I just didn't quite know what to put in it right off the bat, a dollarsign seems a bit cliché.
