"Photography"

Has any one else noticed that everyone does "photography"?
So many of my friends have "Photography" albums on Facebook.
It's almost like it's not even an art any more. It's more like an accessory to have a nice camera.
And I can understand the people that know how to take decent photos (don't want to offend anyone here); even more credit is given if you can edit them marvelously.
But then there's the people who take their camera, stick it anywhere they please, and call it photography.
Or, in terms of editing, people that take a picture and make one color stand out (automatic on a lot of digital cameras).

So, my questions are:

Have you ever noticed this?
What is the difference between real photography and "photography"?

On Topic: PS can take any god awful picture that you have, as long as its High resolution, and make it beautiful. Thats why photography is dead.
