Why do we hack?

I wanted to get some opinions from people here. I know that a lot of the younger "gamers" cheat because they suck at Dayz and want some form of control. What about the rest of you all?

I use a hack because the scripters piss me off too much with their teleporting and instakilling BS. I need to run Dayz navigator so i can hightail it when a scripter joins the server i'm on. It's easy to tell because they will spawn away from their start point within seconds and start the rampage.

This isn't another general troll of hacking forum.

I genuinely want to know why some of you guys feel the need to teleport and instakill, spawn all the vehicles and thunderdome people. Is it fun?


Or is this some taboo subject where the OP gets flamed by ignorant asshats who feel like they have been insulted?

Short answer: In Dayz, you do whatever you can to survive!

Slightly longer answer: If DayZ was hacker free, spending weeks at a time finding the items you need and fighting fair would make sense, but there is no way to reap such long-term benefits while playing legitimately unless on a private hive. If I die I want to gear-up and start having fun ASAP as I'm too busy doing other things to be spending hours upon hours searching for any sort of weapon or gadget I like before even getting to the fun. I'm not claiming to be "only using hacks for good" either. I'll happily track down suckers and kill them just as much as try to befriend and help them. Maybe I'm a bad person for killing people who don't deserve it, but I never feel that way when it comes to killing some annoying know-it-all bastard spamming on side-chat.

Yeah, I kinda feel like if DayZ was hacker free, I wouldn't hack (and if there weren't so many douchey admins). I prefer only using hacks that'll help me get better gear and whatnot, as I refuse to use anything that would like.. destroy all tents/vehicles or kill all players. I only started hacking after some butthurt hacker got mad at me stealing his truck, and he decided to destroy every tent I owned, haha.

Interesting enough.. I've never used any sort of cheats/hacks in a multiplayer game nor have I ever supported them. DayZ is a first. I don't know what it is about the game but.. ugh. Haha.

I kind of hack because I get tired of bandits as well. Weird, I know.. but it's annoying when people tell me PvP is what makes the game realistic (if this was real life, most people wouldn't be able to pull the trigger on another innocent person. There are far too many player killers that outweigh the good guys/Heros). So, I like to store my gear on multiple servers nowadays and go hunting bandits with my group. Though, I don't generally use any hacks when I'm hunting bandits. ;x

I just do i 4 fun to kill all those guys who kill new spawned ppl, or if nobody "bad" is online ill just give ppl a ride to somewhere (taxi like). For myself, its much more a pleasure to "help" ppl with hacking, then _try_ to be nice and get killed by some "random rambos" who think Dayz is an egoshooter.

Yeh i can definitely relate. I was the same, not ever using hacks until Dayz. It's the kind of mod where you can spend hours and hours gearing up and then get killed by some hacker. It really makes you lose faith in the hive servers. Which is a pity. There are too many reasons FOR and not enough AGAINST in this mod.

It's too easy to hack in this mod. If you get banned..who cares? Another CD key for 3 bucks. Even if you get banned 4 times a month it's still cheaper than most subscription games. Therefore it's not really a deterrent.

Most hackers I've talked to have 2 or more CD keys ready to swap out immediately. Even if you don't it's so easy to source them for really low prices.

So I guess I will continue running navigator until the standalone. Also if this mod has this much momentum in the hacking community, it may have a flow on effect. I dunno. Hopefully not.

I started basically due to other hackers. I no longer find enjoyment out of playing legit for 4hrs only to have a hacker teleport to me and kill me or port me 100m into the air. When the standalone game comes out and there is less of the trigger-happy 'Script Kiddies' I will happily play legit, I love this game, but at the moment hacking is all I can do to stay alive and not get bullshitted all the time :/

I could ask you why you're on this forum is all you do is tell people not to cheat on a cheat forum. Who has less of a life?

Started because we got a nice camp at skalista island,and some hax0r teleported and blow it up whit lots of satchels-the explosion was huuuuge and the server crashed...
when i was using survival hack- i was hunting for snipers on elektro trying to shoot fresh spawned players. and if i saw a fresh spawned player-gear him up whit usefull stuff

Yes, because using hacks to defend yourself from a hacker spawning you 100m in the air and etc is retarded. -Facepalm.-

I only hack items if i get killed by a Hacker.

I cheat because i don't give a fuck about other people, i only want to have fun.

Also, i like to spawn Jet and fly

I only started looking into hacks after investing a lot of time running about trying to find some good gear and eventually have my desired load out only to go into a server and be instantly killed by a hacker then teleported off the map into the wilderness. i immediately left the server and joined another which spawned me at elektro but with nothing and i mean nothing, no backpack no bandage etc.

Having said that i only use hacks to spawn gear i want, i never interfere with other players stuff as i know how soul destroying it can be to lose your weeks of hard earned gear in a heartbeat for no good reason. i now spend my time going about trying to help out new players who have nothing, taxi service with a little gift for the survivor if he seems ok, usually it will be a m9sd pistol with 2 clips, enough to get them out of a tight spot but not enough for them to cause too much grief to others if they decide to be an asshat.

i do play other multiplayer online games and have never even considered hacking due tot he fact that they are usually pretty hacker free and anyone who does hack is usually spotted and dealt with fairly quickly.

edit: i should also add that i am a mature gamer and as such just dont get the time to put into games that i would like as my missus and kids come first(just)
