Meh go ask a pastor or w/e. The use of fear is mostly respect and admiration. Its hard to understand but its basically because english is fucked up originally.

Regardless of what use or what form the fear takes, it's still fear
Fear in reverence or fear in apprehension/dread, it's still a fear of something that is more powerful either way. The OT definitely was more geared towards fear in apprehension, but in some context still had a meaning of reverence behind it. Either way, in context it is still fear, and that's the end of it.

Fear the Lord - Bible Studies Net
The word fear is used a lot in the Bible, but there is a difference between servile fear, and fear as in reverence to God.
Keep in mind the translational integrity.
What Alen said. I'm not religious at all, but I've been too countless sermons and disciple tutoring, and some were about fear of the Lord and they pretty much explained it in much the same way as that article. I'm not really talking about pure servile fear but more filial fear in that the dread or pain comes from offending a loved one, rather than fear of the punishment.

It really all depends on the verse. It's like..
When I was a child I used to fear my father..but not in the..holy fuck my dad is scary and he wants to kill me
But more like a respectful fear, as in I knew if I disrespected him the end result would be anger.
In the back of my mind I knew he wouldn't do any serious physical harm to me because he loves me,
but it wasn't wise to test the waters either.

I guess that's like filial fear. You weren't exactly scared of punishment, but you didn't want to anger him by doing wrong by him. It's a thin fine line really.

It's fantasy. If God's watching, he wants you to grab life by the balls, not whine to him and ask for favors.
Are you dead yet?
I suffer from depression and rather then help myself i post it on the internet.

GJ
Depression is the human body's natural response to tell you that you need to change something in your life.. Just like stress.

I'm not a genius or anything but thats my opinion.

So the chemical in your body (or lack thereof) that is potentially CAUSING depression,
is telling itself it needs to change?
