I agree with socialism to some extend. There should be a medium between capitalism and socialism. I.e the government has the responsiblity to take care of their people. Communism isn't really all that bad if it actually worked. The problem is that it always turns into a dictatorship with corruption.
@OP
All of those things you listed are caused by thousands of different factors.
There is a quote by Michael Moncur:
"It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried."
Jon Stewart:
"Democracy: you can't spell it without almost spelling 'crazy'"
Pure communism CAN'T work. Lenin realized this early on and that's why he introduced the NEP. Communism revolves around the concept that everyone is equal. Bullshit. Man is not equal. We are born with different physical traits, different latent talents and capabilities. We are raised on with different philosophies and ways of thought. That is the inherent flaw of pure communism. Because of this concept efforts in a communist society are not rewarded, striving ahead of your peers is ridiculed. Because doing so indicates that you are different, you are better. But such a concept can't possibly exist in a communist state because it goes against the very fundamental core of the communist philosophy. That's one of the main reasons communism failed so spectacularly in Russia. Efforts were not rewarded, so very few tried to excelled, very few strived to succeed and better themselves. Doing so was trying to cheat the system. The end result was a decadent society and a stagnant economy.
