New Dupe Method?

Hello MPGH. I'm creating this thread as a response to something that happened on a server i've been playing on lately. Earlier today someone joined the server. He was brand new, he purchased 1 crate key (the highest crate key) almost as soon as he joined. A little bit later the chat is being spammed with him opening the most expensive crate the server has. He even told us he was duping. The server has Player / Private vaults (the /pv command) and /ah command. I thought maybe it would be one of those and youtubed duping tutorials and came across the conclusion they were all patched. I have no idea what it could be, or how he does it. Has anyone seen this? Does anyone know any unpatched and or dupe methods that are not out there just yet? I'd love to know..
Edit: The server version is 1.8.x

actually looking back at the previous donations he didnt buy one, but when the admins were destroying his base there was 6 dubs of the omega keys (best crate keys) then he started duping my friends sword after he had killed him, it was all a big mess.

haha, I tried to get him to tell me. But he'd say, " I can't tell you cause i'm god "

There is a dupe method that works on almost every server... Idk if I will share it... It exploits a mistake in the server itself (not this dumb redstone stuff)

Not sure if I will release this (so it doesn't get patched)

If I'm not mistaken, 1 method is like got the key throw it on the ground, and disconnect the internet, after picking up, reconnect the internet and u can get it.

I don't even see how it would work. As soon as you disconnect the internet and pick it up, that won't register onto the server files. It will immediately tell the server you are having connection issue or disconnected. You picking it up would solely be because Minecraft hasn't fully detected you have no internet connection.

That is just my understanding on this.

hopefully a dupe will be releases
