Not even specifically contributing members of the community. Even if you do not make releases, guides, or etc. for the section as long as you are still knowledgeable about the game someone is still able to suggest you as a new member.

As for your point about "idiots", if you read above you would see I was not even the one to bring it up. Do you think leechers should be allowed? Spammers? Personally I do not. Actually, most spammers get themselves banned and a pure leecher is never particularly liked by any community. Period. I did not call most of the community idiots, I'm not sure how you managed to perceive that from my post. I said if you are not an idiot like cehrenr had said, getting in if you truly wanted to should not be a problem whatsoever. If you act like a child, spam, leech, and do nothing for the community whatsoever access is not going to be granted. That should be common sense, really. Not sure where I said "only a few people are going to be let in and the rest of you are idiots." I simply said members will be added over time so we can keep track of what goes on and make sure the rules are being enforced so nothing goes wrong and ruins the entire point of the section existing in the first place.

Sigh, it bothers me when people jump to conclusions. Oh well.

So basically this is a secondary "sign-up" (for mpgh's RotMG members) that is not automated like a confirmation email?

So your plan is an elitist 'we are better than the rest of you' club. Cozy up to the council members if you want in, everybody. Fantastic. Now that I fully understand your plan, I think creating a forum or group separate from MPGH may be best. It would be more convenient at MPGH, but your direction is wrong.

I think you meant to say "may not be best", but no. It is not a "we are better" club. Like I said, if you are knowledgeable about the game and still help people out in the section, you can still be apart of the private section for contributing to the section. It is the same way I recruit editors. I don't specifically recruit coders or releasers, I recruit helpful members and people who are truly knowledgeable about the game itself. This will be done in a similar way.

While i don't like this community at all, there's no doubt that even the simplest 'leecher' is NOT useless. It won't be accepted by anyone not in the section because they are not in the section. Simple really. It's like when someone has a standard job driving a standard car, and when someone pulls up next to them in an expensive car they say "wow, he has so much money and a nice car. what an asshole." People will always be like that, it's in human nature.

I am certain this section will be alive only because of these future members and not because MPGH staff is driving it.
If WE dont want an elitist bullshit its up to us ...

Face it. If the majority of the private sections members dont want to privatly release stuff it wont happends.
We are talking about something non existing for the moment.

If this private section turns into bullshit then we will just ignore it (like i totally ignore the pserver section but its because i dont use them), but who knows? Maybe i am too optimistic but its worth a try.
